Dating anniversary and milestone calculator

Enter the date your relationship began to see elapsed days, the next milestone and its countdown. The table combines a few early prompts with annual anniversaries. You can use the date you both recognize: a first date, the day you became a couple, or another shared starting point. The calculator cannot choose that date for you.

Enter the dates you want to compare

Use YYYY-MM-DD, including two digits for the month and day. For example, February 14, 2023 is 2023-02-14. Input years must be between 1900 and 2200. Impossible dates such as February 30 need correcting; the calculator does not move them into the following month.

Leave the reference date empty to use today's UTC calendar date. Enter a reference date to reproduce an example or plan from a particular day. UTC may differ from your local date around midnight. These are date-only calculations: entering a reference date does not specify a time of day or time zone.

The starting date must be on or before the reference date. To plan around a future first date, return once it has happened or enter a later reference date deliberately. If either supplied date is invalid, the results clear until you correct it. A mistyped reference date never silently becomes today.

Understand the milestone list

The early prompts are one month, one hundred days, six months and eighteen months. Annual anniversaries are included as well. These prompts are our editorial selection; there is no requirement to celebrate every row. The table retains the five-year milestone and extends the annual series through the next anniversary as your relationship grows.

Rows are ordered by their actual dates. The next milestone is the earliest one on or after the reference date. If it falls today, the countdown reads zero and the row says “today.” Earlier rows say “passed.” The calculator does not jump over today's milestone to the following year.

The first date counts as day zero. One hundred days means one hundred calendar days later. Month offsets instead keep the original day number. January 31 plus one month becomes February's last day, while two months reaches March 31. A February 29 anniversary uses February 28 in non-leap years and returns to February 29 in leap years.

Reproduce three examples

Use September 11, 2026 as the reference date for these examples. A relationship beginning February 14, 2023 has lasted 1,305 days. Its next anniversary is four years on February 14, 2027, with 156 days remaining. The yearly series continues beyond the fifth anniversary.

For an August 1, 2026 start, the elapsed count is 41 days. The one-month milestone has passed. The next listed milestone is one hundred days, on November 9, 2026, which is 59 days away. This illustrates why a day-based milestone does not necessarily land on the same day number as a monthly one.

Starting December 24, 2025 gives 261 elapsed days. The next milestone is one year on December 24, 2026, 104 days away. If that date shares a busy holiday period, discuss whether you want one celebration or separate occasions before buying anything.

Use the result for your own plans

A countdown does not establish a budget, delivery deadline or expectation of a gift. Compare the milestone date with the seller's actual production and delivery estimate, then choose your own margin. For budget decisions, see how much to spend by relationship stage.

If you remember only an approximate starting date, the results inherit that uncertainty. A card can celebrate the shared memory without claiming an exact day count. Choose the milestones that matter to both of you, and leave the rest as calendar references.
